Reviving My Love for Wine, One Organic Bottle at a Time
Once the name behind America’s first organic winery, now a storyteller in Spain. Catch me exploring the vineyards, winemakers, and traditions that keep the spirit of real wine alive. A return to what matters most.
Join Me As I Explore Spain’s Organic Wine Industry
Look, I didn’t come to Spain to start a blog. I came for the wine. The sun helped, sure. And the prices. But mostly, it was the wine. The kind that tastes a bit wild and ends in long silences and unexpected friendships. Somewhere along the way, I started writing it all down.
This isn’t a guide. It’s more like a scribbled notebook someone left on a wine barrel. Full of half-truths, personal disasters, and an honest obsession with what’s going on beneath the corks of this country. If you’re after polished, go read a Sommelier textbook. If you’re curious about the difference between biodynamic and organic wine in Spain, and why it actually matters to the people making it, you’re in the right place.
Sometimes I dig into geography — like in the piece on Spain’s top organic wine regions, from Rioja to Ronda, which was mostly written with purple fingers and red teeth. Other times it’s more… social. The post about making friends over wine is mostly me failing to understand Spanish small talk and possibly insulting someone’s mother-in-law.
Then there’s the personal stuff. The story about the house I don’t own and the stray dog who seems to think I do — still unfolding. I also spent way too long wondering if natural wine is just a fad, which led to a barrel tasting I don’t fully remember.
If you’re into big-picture stuff, there’s a rant-slash-love-letter about why Spanish wines age better. And if you want proof I’m not the only one who’s noticed Spain is doing something extraordinary, read about the organic wine boom.
And if you’re still wondering who the hell I am, here’s the obligatory About Me where I overshare just enough to keep it interesting.
Anyway, pour something good. Poke around. This is wine talk, unfiltered.
